Edelbrock #8828 Water Pump small block Chevy cartridge style race designed for circle track and endurance racing applications, they feature a revised impeller entry, a hard black anodized finish and .100" thicker rear cover for greater durability. Auxiliary water outlets ease fabrication of custom plumbing systems and auxiliary fittings are available as an or npt. These water pump provide maximum cooling with equal distribution to both sides of the block within 1%. By eliminating hot spots, the engine produces optimum power from every cylinder without detonation and pre-ignition. Other features include billet steel hub and heavy-duty ball/roller bearings.

Installation Notes | The Edelbrock 8827 is a two-piece insert-style water pump with a 1.80" diameter inlet designed for small block Chevrolet engines used in competition; The pump uses the same hub height (5 13/16") as the short leg pump found on 1971-82 Corvettes; It offers weight savings along with increased durability and cooling potential; The #8828 is a replacement insert service item for the #8827.; Installation is the same as for original equipment water pumps, although it does require longer than stock mounting bolts; Consult service manual for specific procedures, if necessary; A -2 AN bleeder screw is installed at the top of the pump.; Loosen the screw after filling the cooling system to remove any air. |
